I’m not a coffee drinker at the best of times and I think there needs to be a special place reserved in hell for anybody who charges or pays more than $4 for a cup of the stuff. Maybe that’s why I have such a hard time figuring out why there’s been so much fuss over Jeff Simmermon and his tantrum at Murky Coffee.
Yes, he acted like a dick, but I think I’d act like a dick too if faced with some teenaged douchebag who felt it necessary to lecture me about what I was doing with something I paid for. A simple “we make this stuff differently than most places do so it might not turn out like you hope” would have done the job. But that said, he took things a step too far by coming back and acting like a fucking baby. If somebody pisses me off that much, I stop going there and move on with my life. Maybe that’s the key. Anybody who has the time to get that worked up over a cup of shitty tasting liquid can’t possibly have that much of one.
At the end of the day it comes down to this. He has a right to do what he wants, they have a right to their store policies. Neither person would have been totally in the wrong. I’m sure he can find another coffee shop, and I’m sure Murky will have no trouble getting replacement customers. There’s no need to make an international incident out of it. Now can we please stop talking about this?
