They searched her car from stem to stern, didn’t believe that she was actually a college professor, and when that was proved, suddenly everything was fine. That was weird.
I just don’t understand customs people. Their reasons to stop people seem completely arbitrary. I’m glad Zempel got back ok. I’m also glad she’s deciding to call her piece “The Homeland Security Blanket.” Maybe it’ll help make them look ridiculous.
