I’ve Heard Of Musical Fruits, But…Musical Vegetables?

Um, um, uh, I thought I was inventive. I’ve been thoroughly schooled. So…he made a clarinet out of a carrot? For real? what I can’t figure out is the music is produced by multiple clarinets. Are they all carrots? How in the hell would you even figure that out? Am I missing something? I likely am, since there’s not a lot of description.
