It’s nice that when Michelle Owen suspected that an ex-boyfriend had used her laptop to access child porn, she wanted to do the responsible thing and have the police search it. But for her sake, it would have also been nice if before she let them have at it, she had remembered to remove the videos of herhaving at it with Toby the beagle.
When confronted about the videos, Owen told officers that it was something she did when she was drunk and that she had tried to erase them when she sobered up the next day. A somewhat acceptable excuse for most people, but considering that at the time of the search she was already locked up on a public intoxication charge which itself was a violation of a release condition from a previous drunk driving case, one has to wonder if sobering up is honestly something this woman does.
