And Now A Musical Interlude

Since we’re talking among other things about people covering hip-hop songs and since as of this moment I have nothing else to say, here are a couple more good ones that I don’t think I’ve ever posted.

First up is a guy named Mat Weddle who also goes by the name Obadiah Parker doing Hey Ya by Outkast.

I’ve never heard anything by Obadiah Parker, but perhaps I should. Not sure how this could be topped, but I should at least give it a chance. Who knows, it could be another Jonathan Coulton situation. JoCo, in case you’ve forgotten, is someone that a lot of people, including me, got to know through his awesome Baby got Back cover.

Moving on, we have the classic version of Eazy-E’s Boyz-n-the-Hood done by dynamite Hack.

Not much more to say here, just listen and enjoy.

To finish off, never forget about what could possibly be the best one of all time, NWA’s Straight Outta Compton as performed by Nina Gordon.

I posted this one years ago I know, but the link to the song appears not to be working anymore or at least right now, so here’s a new one.

I know there are zillions more of these things, some I’ve heard and some I haven’t. If you know of any that need listening to, feel free to leave a comment or send an email and maybe I’ll post some of the good ones if any come in.
