>This is just a quick plug to try and help out our neighbour who I’ve talked about off and on,, usually when talking about the huppy. She’s participating in the Parkinson Society SuperWalk this Saturday September 12 and is asking for folks to sponsor her. She’s doing this in memory of her mom who had Parkinson’s and passed away in early 2008. Here is her message:
I will be joining more than 12,000 walkers and volunteers across Canada on September 12th and 13th to take part in the annual SuperWalk in support of Parkinson Society Canada. SuperWalk is Parkinson Society Canada’s national fundraising event. SuperWalk raises money to fund research to find a cure and to provide education, support and advocacy for over 100,000 Canadians living with Parkinson’s, and their 400,000 family members, friends and caregivers. I am counting on your support. Please help me to contribute to the goal of $2.4 million by clicking on the “Sponsor Me’’ button below. Every dollar makes a difference.
Thanking you in advance.
If you feel so inclined, why not pledge her some money?
the site is slightly wonky woo for screen-readers, but not awful. Some of the edit fields are strangely labeled. for one, there are two edit fields after the address field, and one of them says apartment number. but if you write in there, it doesn’t register, so use the other one that has a * next to it. These two are in addition to the one labeled address. So I was very confused. I think the donation area does the same thing. So you may have to play around, but I have successfully donated to her cause, so it can be done.
I hope she has a good walk. This will be the second time she’s done it and the second time I can’t go with her. Boo!
