Instant messaging ‘chatspeak’ no danger to spelling: study

Whether or not I agree with the conclusions drawn or not isn’t why we’re here. We’re here because somebody in a CBC newsroom may have just proven it wrong.

A study in the British Journal of Developmental Psychology in 2009 said that regular users of chatspeak tend of have better vocubulary than others in their peer group.
