In “So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish,” Wonko the Sane said the reason he went mad was because he read the instructions on a box of toothpicks. He felt it was enough to drive one insane that people needed instructions for such an item. I think he would go even madder if he learned they had been deemed a safety hazard at a UK restaurant. Safety hazard? Meanwhile, patrons had been eating with sharp knives and forks the whole time. But oh no, one cannot be permitted to pick meat out from between his teeth.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. After all, teaspoons can kill over there.
