Wow! I just finished watching the best MMA match I’ve seen since I don’t know when. If you’re a fan of the UFC and you haven’t seen Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen yet, go do that now, I’ll wait.
I’ve never seen Anderson Silva treated that way in my life, and who knows if I ever will again. Silva’s fights generally go one of 2 ways. He either finishes you usually by knocking you into next fucking year before the fight really has a chance to get started, or he dances around you like a worthless tool for 5 rounds trying not to lose, making for some of the shittiest fights you ever did see. But Saturday night, Chael Sonnen owned him for nearly 24 minutes before getting caught in a triangle and having to tap. But even though Silva ultimately retained, when I say owned, I’m not screwing around. Sonnen won the fight standing and he won it on the ground, to the point that there were a couple of rounds that had it gone to the cards easily could have been 10-8’s. I hope there’s an immediate rematch. After how good this was, they would be fools not to book one.
