This story of a doctor’s body being found inside another man’s chimney just keeps getting weirder and weirder.
So it starts out that neighbours noticed a bad smell in the neighbourhood and they didn’t know why. Then, someone who was checking on the fish at a neighbour’s house happened to notice fluids in the fireplace, looked up the chimney, and oh dear dear! A body! Also, neighbours had noticed belongings of a neighbour’s ex-girlfriend just laying around outside, so wondered if she’d been kidnapped.
Then it comes out that the body belongs to a local doctor by the name of Jacquelyn Kotarac and she had dated the inhabitant of the house. At first, investigators had thought the death suspicious, but it looks like she went in the chimney of her own accord. So I thought maybe she came over to help him with his fireplace, slid, got stuck, and died for some reason.
But then it seems that when she arrived at the house, the guy who lived there left to avoid confrontation. So she tried to break in by going down the chimney? And how come he didn’t come back for a week?
But by the end, I started to wonder if it was a suicide. They were talking about all her tax liens, nearly losing her house, and her upcoming arraignment for defrauding an innkeeper.
I guess we’ll never know why she slid down the flue. I think a lot of people will be scratching their heads for a long time.
