Seriously, are criminals even trying anymore?
This is 33-year-old German Paz, who has just been sentenced to 15 years in a federal prison. His crime? Carrying on an online relationship with a 13-year-old girl. To his credit, he somehow got away with it until the girl got a little older and a little wiser and decided hey, let’s call the FBI and rat him out.
But here’s the problem. Let’s say you’re wanting to snag yourself some fresh meat. Unless you’re doing it as a cry for help and looking to be arrested, you’re going to want to make yourself and your intentions appear anything but obvious. So when you’re deciding on your chat handle, why in the name of Jesus Christ in a fucking hotdog cart would you choose to go by The Delightful Deviant? No really, why?
I said to his credit he got away with it, but maybe he doesn’t deserve any. Perhaps we need to dole out blame, but where to put it? We know nothing else about Mr. Paz here other than he’s not all that great at nicknames. But with that as our starting point, isn’t it safe to assume that there were almost surely signs of trouble? Who failed in the observation department here? But maybe he’s an evil genius. Maybe being so overt helped him out because a lot of people don’t realize that the name you choose can say a lot about who you are. I don’t know and I probably never will, but however you choose to look at this…The Delightful Deviant? That just has bad idea written all over it.
