I Thought You Said You Wanted To See Some I.D.I.C.K.

Sometimes I worry that there’s going to come a time when the weird news stories are going to get so over the top that we’ll run out of things to post because we’ll have literally seen everything and won’t be phased by anything anyone throws at us. But then I get completely hung up on one little detail in one little police blotter item and realize how silly that fear is.

3. Male arrested after exposing himself
On November 3, 2013 at 1:52 a.m., the Guelph Police attended to a restaurant in the downtown in response to an unwanted male inside. After removing the male from the establishment, he turned, exposed himself to officers in view of downtown patrons. After a brief foot chase, the male was arrested
Patrick REAY, 19 years of Georgetown has been charged with indecent act. He will appear in court on December 13, 2013.
Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is asked to contact Cst D. Anderson at 519-824-1212 ext. 7444. Anonymous tips can be left at CRIME STOPPERS 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitted online at www.crimestoppersguelphwellington.com.

I’ve seen my share of people getting kicked out of places, in person and on TV. Often they yell and scream. Sometimes they even lash out physically and try taking on the cops. But I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of a fellow being removed from an establishment and deciding that the most appropriate course of action at that point would be hey officer, have a look at the old boom stick, why don’t ya!?

Am I out of touch? Is this a thing now? Do I have something else to start borderline obsessively watching for? Or is this guy just this guy, and everyone else will still realize that it’s probably best to leave well enough and yourself alone?

    1. I can’t speak for Carin, but for me it’s the best one we came up with. I always picture people landing there thinking they’re getting some handy household hints and oh sweet mother of baby Jesus!

        1. Thank you. It’s a gift, what can I say. We all have a calling in life, I feel. You, for instance, are a talented advocate for accessibility in the online world and a tireless fighter for same in the daily lives of those in real life. I, on the other hand, have some creative ways to say shween.
