Wow. Another parent of the year. I don’t have a lot to say, because there isn’t anything I could add, except, oh yeah, this one’s in Florida, too.
This one, Kayla R. Oxenham, decided she had to brand her kids to mark them as her own. Yup, that’s what they say she said. She heated up a stick with a llighter and then made marks with it on her kids, 5 and 7 years old. Then she offered them ice cream after. She also apparently said she loved fire.
By the sounds of things, she hasn’t been the most stable parent, grabbing her kid by the hair and slamming her into the wall several times for locking their cat in the bedroom. Funnily enough, she denies that ever happened, but won’t confirm or deny the burning.
Apparently, she lives next to some loopy neighbours. Have a look at this video. Is that neighbour woman loopy, stupid, or both. Whatever she is, I’m sure the reporter just wanted her to keep talking, talking and talking.
It says that Oxenham is out of jail after paying $15000. I’m sure she’s relieved that jails don’t brand their inmates to mark them as theirs.
