Other than I was not expecting that, I’m not sure I have words to describe this. I’m not even sure I know what genre it falls into, not that it really matters.
I’ve never really cared for Fly Away. I know it was one of his biggest hits, but I always felt like Lenny Kravitz totally phoned it in and got extraordinarily lucky. But this Larkin Poe version? It kind of rules. Nice harmonies and some great slide guitar. This is how it always should have sounded.
I heard this song, and thought it was awesome and would give me an excuse to put up another link that I’ve wanted to post anyway. So we kinda sorta have COVID vaccines if we can keep the supply going. But there are a bunch of folks who are worried about how they came out […]
The annual stupid ass reasons why people called 911 lists are starting to come out. E-Comm, one of the dispatch systems in British Columbia, is out with its top 10. Some are fairly standard, but you can definitely see the COVID influence creeping in. To complain that a food delivery driver did not deliver a meal. […]
Impact has made some interesting choices for its new announce team. I hope it works out. Impact gets more right nowadays than it gets wrong so I trust them more on this than I would have a few years ago, but still, interesting. If I’ve ever heard D’Lo Brown do commentary, I don’t remember it. […]
I have no idea what to make of this. My main takeaway is that Willie sounds extremely old in it.
It’s always a little disappointing when somebody whose contributions to your entertainment you’ve enjoyed goes and ruins everything by showing himself to be kind of a moron. Hopefully I’ll still be able to listen to most Van Morrison without wanting to reach through whatever speaker I happen to be close to so I can punch […]
I just got this email a few days ago from Guide Dogs for the Blind about some new regulations to do with flying with your guide dog, whenever flying is a safe thing to consider doing again. It sounds like they’ve done most of this the right way. It could use a couple of tweaks, […]
Barb wrote me about some assholes running a puppy scam in Kingston, Ontario. “I want to feel sorry for the people who got scammed,” she says. “But then I read the best sentence I’ve ever read in my life.” She’s not wrong. It’s quite fantastic. These malicious pet shop sites sometimes include poorly written testimonials […]
I think I probably like this, but I’ll need a few more listens to be sure. It was a bit jarring at first not hearing the Scottish accents, but I got used to it. I bet it would be fun as hell to watch live.
