I’m Either Getting A Blood Clot Or I’m About To Faint Because The Ontario Government Did Something Right

Looks like a bunch of us idiots who did a smart thing and got the crappy vaccine that isn’t all that crappy, actually are going to be able to get the other half of our treatment without having to try out something that sounds kind of reckless even if it might ultimately work. This is good news. It would have been a crime (murder, most likely) to have let all of those doses go to waste. Clearly my words made an impact.

Ontario is resuming use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19 but only as a second dose.
The province’s chief medical officer says health risks posed by the vaccine are low.

The province says new data indicate the benefits far outweigh the risk with second doses.
Ontario has tens of thousands of doses of the vaccine set to expire at the end of the month.

  1. Don’t those expire on Sunday? And do you have your appointment for your second shot yet? i’m guessing no, because if you had, you usually would’ve told me by now.

    1. There are a bunch set to expire on the 31st, but I think there are supposed to be plans for them unless something has changed again.

And yes, I do have a second shot appointment.  I actually had that before the first shot was even in my arm.  Since I booked it through my doctor’s office they were keeping things super organized and gave me a second date when I booked my first.  Now we’ll just have to see if they’re able to hold to it with everything changing so much all the time.
