Not that it’s ever gonna happen, but if for some reason I’m asked to join Aerosmith, I’m saying no. It’s just too damn dangerous for me. Not so much because of the drugs and booze and pills and what have you, I’m more concerned about the cars and high stages and miscellaneous surgeries and now theold women rear-ending me while I’m riding my motorcycle.
Aerosmith’s Joe Perry was hospitalized after a minor motorcycle accident yesterday. According to the Patriot Ledger, the guitarist was driving his Ducati Monster near his Duxbury, Massachusetts home when he was rear-ended by a 62-year-old woman driving a Chevy Malibu on Route 44. Perry was not found to blame in the accident, and the other driver, Linda O’Brien, was charged with following too closely.
Perry was admitted to Morton Hospital and Medical Center for treatment, but was quickly discharged with only minor injuries. The band’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, told the Boston Globe, “Joe is home and he’s fine. All’s well and we’re all grateful.”
Word is that the accident won’t at all mess with the group’s current tour, but all you have to do is punch the word Aerosmith into the search at the top of this page and start reading to see what that claim is worth. That said, something tells me that this time they mean it since I don’t have tickets.
