Old songs. We all love them. We all sing them. But as much as we enjoy and care for them and the traditions they represent, we all have to admit that there are some that could really use some updating in order to conform to modern day sensibilities. Drunken Sailor, for instance. The punishments dealt out in the version with which we are all familiar, by today’s standards, are cruel, unusual and just plain irresponsible. So thank the deity of your choice that there are people such as Adam Buxton in the world to bring a little bit of 21st century love and understanding into this most unfortunate of situations.
