It’s been a bad weekend for Canadian entertainers. FirstRoger Abbott, and nowTerry Sumsion.Strangely enough, both were 64, both died of horrible diseases (Abbott of leukemia and Sumsion from cancer), and both, as best I can tell, passed away on Saturday the 26th of March.
Even though he was around forever and recorded what seemed like a million songs,Our Lovin’ Placeis the first one that always comes to mind when I hear his name. My dad loves this song and was constantly singing it when I was little, to the point where I sometimes here his voice instead of Terry’s when it comes on.
Thanks to Brad and the Shoe Thief for letting me know about this. It’s Monday afternoon and I’ve still seen nothing about him on any of the news sites I visit, music or general. I thought at first it was one of those death hoaxes that have become so popular, but I have a feeling it’s real, especially since I recognize the name of the person who wrote the tribute I linked to.
Cancer is a real bastard.
