We were sitting around having lunch, and for some reason, I got thinking about an old recording we heard years ago, before there was a blog. It was of a pissed off customer who was very upset that his cable wasn’t working, so barraged his cable company with rather inventive, profanity-laced messages. Dogen-faced? I have never heard that one before. My dad, shamefully, used to say “dogen” and then would get shushed by mom, but that’s as close to “dogen-faced” as I’ve ever gotten.
Anyway, all we know about the origins of this recording, based on this transcript of the call, was that it came from a tape that he got from a guy at a cable company.
Goddamn it, it doesn’t matter how many times you hear it, it’s still funny. I hadn’t listened to this in years, and I can’t stop laughing!
I only have two things to say about this recording. First, anyone who knows Steve’s dad says this guy sounds like him, right down to the inventive swear words. I believe I’ve talked about this before.
Second, whoever set this to music is a genius! The music makes it even more hilarious.
So, does anyone out there know more about this recording? Even if you don’t, I hope you enjoy it. That’s quite the inventive swearing, and lots of it.
