It’s not beefy home run in your mouth territory, but lord, those find an eye doctor ads that poor Ben and Mike have to read on air every day are their own brand of awful. I cringe every time because I’ve done my own share of reading on the radio and I know how hard it would be for me to read those things without a mocking tone in my voice. No more “eyescuses”? Really? If I were an ad agency and that was the best I could come up with, I would seriously consider not taking payment. If we have to use corny wordplay (which is totally fine by the way), why not something like “chart a course to your nearest eye doctor” or “drop in to see an optometrist near you”? Neither of those are super fantastic, but they took me less than 30 seconds and they’re both way better than “eyescuses”.
