>Transcendent Man?

>Is this movie about the same Ray Kurzweil that invented all the Kurzweil reading products? Oh yes, yes it is. Has he always been this looped? It appears so. this frightens me. At my computer, I have software designed by a man who thinks that our minds should be combined with technology in order to keep up. Nooo! If I end up on a nature reserve in his idea of the future, so-be-it!

Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful for everything he has invented. without his creations, who knows if or when OCR would have been a possibility. I didn’t know he made the first speech synthesizer. do they mean the one that went in the giant reading machine? Or do they mean another one? I want to keep an open mind, and I think that is part of the reason that my mind rejects the idea of sharing itself with artificial intelligence. Like someone said on a comment on Weird Universe where I first saw this, knowing how easily malware can be created, do we want to run the risk of sharing our heads with malware and potentially allowing it to cloud our thought processes?

Now I really want to see this movie, if only to understand how truly odd his ideas are. I’ll have to figure out how.
