I haven’t quite finished watching it yet so lord knows I may be adding to this list soon, but there are 2 things that have driven me nuts about this week’s Raw so far.
- Michael Cole is an idiot. And if this isn’t his fault, whoever told him to do this is an idiot too.
Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov are getting ready to team up for the first time. they’re shown in the back and Santino is all excited about finally getting to team with Vlad. He comes out with a line about how the 2 of them teaming up will be Russia and Italy together again, just like World War 2, but with no Nazis this time. I chuckled because I got the joke, like you’re supposed to when something is slipped in somewhere and you happen to catch it.
So then the match starts, and that pantload Cole comes out with “well, we want to correct Santino’s history a bit. Russia and Italy were enemies during the war.”
Thanks for the hot tip, fuckass! And while I’m at it, thanks for ruining the joke and stopping the show to explain it to me like I’m 5, you vintage dingleberry!
Can you imagine what it would be like if every time somebody made a joke in a movie or on a TV show they stopped everything to explain it in case somebody missed it? You probably can’t, because it would be retarded to even bother imagining it, and even more retardeder to actually do it!
- The Edge and Jericho vs. Randy Orton and Evan Bourne tag match. It was pretty good, and the right team won. I’ll even go so far as to say that the right guy got the pin since right now they seem to be trying to push Evan. But then they had to go and fuck it up. I’m not entirely sure if they did this because they’re dumb, because they want to show that Orton needs no friends, because they’re showing that there are no friends in a Money In the Bank match or because of one of those last 2 things plus they’re dumb, but during the post-match celebration, Orton turns around and RKO’s Evan.
There are times when this works and makes sense, I admit that. But this isn’t one of them. You’re trying to get Evan over and show that he belongs on the same level with people like Orton, Edge and Jericho. Giving him a win over guys on that level is a good start, but it means nothing if you’re just going to have his own tag partner kill him dead afterwards. He should have been given his moment, because people would have remembered it. Now all they’re going to remember is that he needed Jericho’s partner to turn on him for him to get the pin and that he’s not as good as Orton. Way to go, TNA writing team! Fabulous job!
