Goodbye, Harold Ramis

I was sad to hear that Harold Ramis died yesterday. Everyone is remembering him for all of the classic movies he was a part of as they should, but to me he’ll always be Moe Green from the early years of SCTV since I used to watch reruns of that show all the time. Those first few seasons are some of my favourites, and his writing and acting are a big part of that.

Here are a few videos I found, since watching Harold Ramis do Harold Ramis things is a lot more fun than me trying to write anything worthwhile about Harold Ramis. Sorry about the sound quality on these. They were the best I could find.

THE NORTH AMERICAN STETHOSCOPY INSTITUTE

MOE GREEN: “SO YOU’RE DEAD; NOW WHAT?

“CURTIS EDGIT: PLAINCLOTHES MOUNTIE”

AD FOR “THE NATIONAL DRUGSTORE ASSOCIATION”

“CAPTAIN COMBAT” & GUS GUSSTOFFERSON, SECURITY GUARD

This one also features an appearance by Swami Bananananda.

And finally this, which I somehow forgot about. “BEN-HUR”/PROMOS FOR “BILL & MIKE” & “MASQUERADE FUNERAL”

I remember seeing it not long after we had to spend a couple of days watching Ben-Hur in school. This version is much better. There’s even a Dialing for Dollars bit at the end. I always liked those.
