I’m starting to get irritated by the Casper mattress commercial. “Try it today for 100 nights risk free,” it says. How? I can do one or the other, but not both. That’s not how time works. How about “order today and try it for 100 nights risk free?” Is this really that hard?

Nobody Honestly Thinks Eggs For Dinner Is Weird, Do They?
I don’t understand the “eggs for dinner isn’t weird, you’re weird for thinking it’s weird” commercials. Is eggs for dinner really a weird thing? I know tons of people who do that, and most of them are pretty normal. If eggs for dinner is weird, why do so many restaurants serve all day breakfast? I …

Where The Fake Celebrity Ads Come From And How They Work
Perhaps you remember me writing about those damn fake celebrity endorsements that were constantly popping up here and pretty well everywhere else on the internet for a while. If you do, chances are you may be interested in this long article about Ads Inc., one of the companies seemingly responsible for a lot of them. …

You’re Spelling Out The Wrong Word, Guys
Question for whomever wrote those ZipRecruiter commercials on the radio: The part where you give out the special web address ZipRecruiter.com/canada and then have the voice guy spell out the word Canada, who is that for, exactly? We’re in Canada. Anyone in a position to need that address is probably going to know how to …
Complete + Wrong
Not sure if the ad on TV for Buckley’s Complete + Mucus bothers anyone else, but it’s been bugging the heck out of me. The name of the product doesn’t make any sense. If something is complete, it’s done. The minute you have to add a +, it’s no longer complete and the thing you’ve …
Everybody Needs Good Speakeroos
I like the little song in the Volkswagen commercials. It’s bouncy, it’s catchy, it’s fun to sing along to…especially when you actually know the words. I wasn’t sure if I was going deaf, there was too much background noise, I always caught it from a distance or some combination of the three, but for a …
So He’s Good Then?
Let me make sure I have this right. The Conservatives bought advertising time on television stations so that they could show advertisements like this one that advertise all of the bad things that Justin Trudeau has done, and then tell us at the end of all of their advertisements that Justin Trudeau is not as …
Ineyescusable
It’s not beefy home run in your mouth territory, but lord, those find an eye doctor ads that poor Ben and Mike have to read on air every day are their own brand of awful. I cringe every time because I’ve done my own share of reading on the radio and I know how hard …
Why Are The TV Commercials Yelling AT Me Again?
Perhaps Carin and I are just crazy old people (the fact that we still fairly happily pay for cable television suggests that we might be), but in case we’re not, I’ll toss this out into the world. Has anybody else noticed that, even though it’s not supposed to happen and hasn’t felt like a problem …

Ads For Ad Blockers
I know you have to get the word out somehow, but seeing ads for ad blockers will never not be funny. It messes with your head too. You know somebody is selling out a little, but who is it? Is the blocker guy helping the beast he’s trying to kill or is the ad guy …
