Yee ha. I’m up late because Trix inexplicably has a raging case of the scoots, so I figured why not post something? Hopefully whatever I post won’t be really boring or full of nonsense. It’s almost 4 in the morning. I should be snoring. But oh no. I’m awake. But hey, it could be worse. I could feel like Trix must feel. That would suck much arse.
I just read about a creepy app that points out all the things I hate about Foursquare and Facebook. Read The tale of ‘Girls Around Me’. Now, if you do the Facebook/Foursquare thing, lock that shit down, ok?
In a nutshell, what this app does is figure out where you are, then see how many girls who check into Foursquare are near you. Then it can link you to their Facebook profile, and if it’s public, you can read all about them, then go track them down. Doesn’t that sound like a recipe for not so good? I sure thought so, and so did the girls he was showing this too.
This particular app has been given a swift kick in the balls by Foursquare, but that doesn’t stop the next app from popping up.
People, please, think about your privacy online. Don’t leave yourself open to be stalked or worse.
