A Cool Piece Of Blue Jays History: Audio Of Their First Home Run

Last Updated on: 27th September 2013, 11:18 am

I’m not sure exactly where this came from, but I’m glad it’s here.

This is audio of Tom Cheek’s call of the first ever home run in Toronto Blue Jays history. It was hit by Doug Ault on april 7th, 1977, the Blue Jays home opener. Ault hit 2 homers that day, helping the Jays to a 9-5 win over the Chicago White Sox.

This happened 2 years before I was born, so obviously I didn’t get to hear it at the time. Thank you, internet. Is there nothing you can’t do?
