Every Red Light In Town

Before I get to Gill’s latest offering, I’m going to take a second to remind you all (especially those of you who have told me in no uncertain terms that you are not Gill fans) that you’re welcomed to send in something of your own. And now, Gill.

Have you ever driven, or been in a car with someone who lamented having to stop for every red light on the way to a destination? I have, and sometimes I complain, but I also stop to think of what would occur with out this device.

Your certainly probably questioning why I brought this up. With February being black history month I thought I would share this tidbit of information.

In 1923 an African American by the name of Garette Morgan perfected the stoplight. That’s not all he created, the gas mask, a heart device, and a hair tool are also things created by him.

When he traveled to showcase his creation of the gas mask he had to use a white decoy, or gave himself the Native American moniker of Big Chief Mason.
