The Trump White House Sounds Like Every Bit The Bumbling, Miserable Mess You thought It Would Be

There’s a lot going on here including the major takeaway that the holy shit, we might have to start acting like responsible adults in charge of running something kind of important reality may be beginning to set in, but for me, the most important part of this New York Times story on the early days of the Trump administration are these two sentences right here.

Aides confer in the dark because they cannot figure out how to operate the light switches in the cabinet room. Visitors conclude their meetings and then wander around, testing doorknobs until finding one that leads to an exit.

If being unable to get a handle on the most basic of concepts and wandering aimlessly in the dark hoping desperately for eventual release isn’t the perfect metaphor for life in and out of government in America right now, somebody please tell me what is.
