Gee, I had no idea all the knife crime in the UK was being perpetrated by scouts. It must be, since they’re now banning scouts from being able to carry knives. Oh, there’s no proof that scouts are committing the crimes? Then why are they being punished for it? Oh yeah, this is the UK.
A knife is only a weapon if someone chooses to use it as such. And banning knives for scouts, who probably aren’t the ones using a knife as a weapon, doesn’t make the problem go away. It just makes people feel they’ve done something about it.
Ok, if they’re going to ban knives, maybe they should ban carrying rope too, since in theory, they could tie someone up with those wacky knots they’ve learned in scouting. Then they could go get a knife and stab them.
Seriously, do they think this is going to do anything?
I am happy they’ve stopped giving out goldfish as prizes though. I always thought that was plain evil.
